Alongside this announcement, they’ve also released a video detailing the three basic fighting methods you can choose from at the start of the game:
The Forsaken Method allows your fighter to Parry enemy blow, stunning them for a brief moment and giving you a window to counterattack.
The Kahlt Method allows you to absorb attacks, blocking them outright and avoiding knockback, chain breaks and stuns. If you successfully land a counter attack, you’ll regain health lost.
The Windfall Method gives you the ability to dodge enemy attacks if your reflexes are quick enough, literally ducking under high punches and jumping over low sweeping kicks
The trailer also outlines the main features of the Combat Deck. The process of developing your own unique playstyle was one of my favorite parts of the demo of Absolver we saw at PAX East, and it lets you focus yourself, or create an unexpected mix of movements to catch an enemy off guard.
There is also a Beta Registration form available, so if you’re eager to get your hands on Absolver early, sign up there for a chance at Beta Access.
