The Sinking City Announced

Every once in a while, a game pops up on your radar that makes you very, VERY excited. The kind of game that’s everything you’d ever hoped for. Sure, you should temper your expectations (you’ve been disappointed before), but you throw caution to the wind and put the hype train into full speed ahead with next to nothing to go on.

The Sinking City is that game for me.

Being created by Ukrainian Indie Developer Frogwares, The Sinking City, which was announced earlier this week, could be just about the best thing ever if you are a Lovecraft Fan:

The Sinking City is a game of investigation genre taking place in a fictional open world inspired by the works of H.P. Lovecraft.
The player incarnates a private investigator in 1920s, who finds himself in a city in New England; Oakmont, Massachusetts. It’s currently suffering from extensive waterflood, and its cause is clearly supernatural. The city trembles on the brink of madness.
Can you investigate this beleaguered town and untangle the tragic extent of its failings or will you be driven beyond madness yourself?

Oh, but it gets better; we’ll be seeing demo information for The Sinking City very soon:

Finally, GDC is coming very soon and we’ll be presenting both games, Sherlock Holmes: Devil’s Daughter and The Sinking City with demo versions.

We don’t have anything besides concept art currently, but the stuff we do have sets exactly the tone I am excited to see:

I’m very optimistic, and cannot wait to find out more details. Be sure to check back here for more info about The Sinking City that is gleaned from GDC.

Have your say!
