Skara Launches into F2P Early Access

Skara Launches into F2P Early Access

As of  4:30pm CET today, Skara: The Blade Remains has become available to play for free on Steam Early Access in its Open Alpha form.

Skara – The Blade Remains is a Free-to-Play competitive team-based melee combat game for up to 10 players set in a fantasy world. Easy to learn, hard to master, only the best can be legendary, remembered forever in Skara lore.

First and foremost, I’m immediately impressed by the depth of lore being created for Skara: The Blade Remains. It’s an original IP, and looks like a fatastic world to get lost in. Additionally, I’m a big fan of the way the lore will be presented, through in-game entries, lore-related events, the game’s social media sites and soon to be published novel. Some people turn there nose up at multi-platform means of relating in game lore, but I happen to love it.

Secondly, the team based combat of Skara: The Blade Remains looks tactical, diverse, and fun. while videos that have come out show the combat as being a tad slow in speed, part of me really likes that. It puts a greater emphasis on planning, anticipating and executing moves at the right moments, rather than button mashing to oblivion and getting stuck in stun loops.

If you want to try out Skara: The Blade Remains you can play for free on Steam right now. We’ll be putting in some time this weekend for sure!
