During the Nintendo Switch Indie Highlights video released for Gamescom 2018, Game Atelier announced that the Nintendo Switch version of Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom will launch on November 6, 2018, alongside the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC versions.

Similar to 2017’s Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap, Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom is a sidescrolling adventure and spiritual successor to Sega’s Wonder Boy series. You play as a boy name Jin who has the ability to shapeshift into a lion, a frog, a snake, a pig, and a dragon, as he goes on the journey to stop his evil uncle Nabu and prevent him from using his magic to spread chaos throughout the kingdom.
