We first saw GUNGUNGUN at the 2016 Boston Festival of Indie Games. It stood out to me, even from the brief preview I had on the show floor, for just how solid the gun play felt. I mean, for a small scale, 2D arena shooter, GUNGUNGUN has better feeling guns than many gun heavy FPS game’s I’ve played in my time.
GUNGUNGUN just made the move to Steam Early Access, and at this milestone moment, I wanted to learn more about the design behind the game, and the designers behind the game! we had the opportunity to talk with Takorn Sueksagan, one of the lead developers at Mystery Egg Games. We discuss GUNGUNGUN’s history, how the team made the gun play feel so good, and his background as an independent game developer.
