Ethan Carter goes F2P and 8Bit

In a brilliant move to attract more players, get a game out quickly, and to drum up some nostalgia votes, The Astronauts have made a bold decision to release a second version of the their upcoming game The Vanishing of Ethan Carter, and go old school.  Today, the team announced that The Vanishing of Ethan Carter would be available in two versions: The high-res, gorgeous version, and in an 8Bit F2P version.

However, the decision also drew some criticism; something about “money-hungry devs” and “pay-to-win”. I’m not quick to judge and think that we need to wait for the final product. Leaf Economy balance could be perfectly fine for all we know!

Have your say!
