For those of you who have been living in a Zombie Shelter for the last year, DayZ is a multiplayer open world survival horror mod of the 2009 tactical shooter video game ARMA 2. It places the player in all too realistic environment where they may experience such things as bone fractures, shock, infections from both the zombies or diseased players, or even fainting due to a low blood pressure. Players even have to worry about thirst and hunger as they search for food in cities and in the wilderness. These harsh conditions and the always unpredictable factor of other players’ actions and motives made the mod a hit in 2012. The developers are now working on making DayZ a standalone game now.
The DayZ developers, Rocket and Matt, have been hard at work on this endeavor and are constantly updating the community on its progression. Yesterday, they released a new Vlog detailing new engine support for clothing, loot spawning mechanics and a few other new additions to the game. Have a look… with the lights on, of course.
Check back for frequent updates on DayZ because we will be keeping our eyes on this game as it marches towards its release.
