The Boston Festival of Indie Games, or FIG, has set the date for it’s 2014 event. The 2014 Boston FIG will be held September 13, at the Johnson Athletic Center at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. The Boston FIG covers everything independent and gaming, be it video or board;
Boston Festival of Indie Games provides independent game developers with the opportunity to show off their games, get feedback from the public and win great prizes at the Figgies Awards Show for the Digital and Tabletop Showcases. Festival attendees play video games and tabletop games in a casual, inclusive environment, plus attend events throughout the day with a focus on educating the public about the ins and outs of the industry. Attendees can also become game developers themselves by participating in digital game jams, creating their own board and card games, and attending screenings and lectures about the process of making games. In 2013, over 7,000 people attended the festival at MIT, playing nearly 80 digital and board games.
“Over the last two years, the Boston Festival of Indie Games has established itself as the premiere event for independent game developers and fans in the New England area,” said Dan Silvers, Director of the Boston Festival of Indie Games. “In our third year, we aim to deliver the same caliber of content you have come to expect from us, while focusing on making Boston FIG a fun, safe and welcoming environment for all who attend. We can’t wait to see you in September!”
